23 sept. 2021

Caroline Cormier joins the Newton team in Berlin as the Strategic Partnerships & Engagement Manager.

Caroline brings over a decade of experience working in the field of education. Most recently, she worked as a senior manager at a Berlin-based EdTech start-up, where she was responsible for identifying international growth opportunities through the development of high-impact partnerships.

Building Partnerships in Education

In this role, she established and managed partnerships with leading universities, national libraries, and healthcare associations in over 25 different countries, providing curriculum consultation and training for educators about best practices in technology-enabled learning.

“I am excited to work with the FIRST Scandinavia team to develop new partnerships and to continue to expand the Newton Concept internationally. I believe that by providing incredible learning experiences we can empower students with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed to address pressing global challenges, both now and in the future", Caroline says.

Caroline holds university degrees in several areas, including International Development, Geography, Urban Planning, and History, and regularly consults on research and education projects developed by museums, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, and start-ups.

Excellence in Teaching
Previously, Caroline developed co-curricular programming and wrote education policy at the University of Toronto (Canada). She also spent eight years working as a learning strategist and teaching undergraduate classes in the fields of Geography, Urban Studies, History, and Community Service Learning (CSL). For her teaching, she received a Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Toronto – an award that recognizes individual educators for their exceptional teaching practices and classroom engagement.

“Caroline’s role will be to support the expansion of the Newton concept in Europe and beyond, help build out our learning concepts for educators, bring our growing network together, and secure new and exciting partnerships”, says Alysia Tofflemire, Executive Director of NewtonRoom gGmbH in Berlin.
