An inspiration for the young Dutch generation

The portable classroom will be installed at the AM&TS in Hoogerheide for three weeks.  More than 300 students from secondary schools in the region of West-Brabant will learn mathematical concepts in an aviation setting, with the module “Up in the Air with Numbers”. 

This is the second time the Newton concept is presented in the Netherlands. Last time was at a temporary Newton Room at Technische Universiteit Delft in May 2018.

The Newton concept is now being presented in nine European countries through mobile solutions and permanent venues.

The opening ceremony was attended, amongst others, by Boeing and FIRST Scandinavia leaders, local authorities, and by the Royal Netherlands Air Force Kol. Ellen Meeuwsen-Scholten, Commander Woensdrecht Airbase.

With the Mobile Newton Room experience, we hope to create interest in establishing a permanent Newton Room in the Netherlands," says Stian Elstad, Managing Director of FIRST Scandinavia.
