How to Establish a Newton Room

Establishing Newton Rooms is a process which will be most successful with local dedication and commitment. Close collaboration with Science Skills Academy or FIRST Scandinavia as well as local administrative, political, and business leaders will allow for a smooth and successful establishment. Anchoring the Newton Concept in the region early in the establishment process is critical.

Newton Rooms are often established through a partnership between local or regional authorities, schools, and local businesses. Businesses are a key player who often contribute financially or in-kind to the Newton Room. Science Skills Academy or FIRST Scandinavia will guide and assist all parties throughout the entire process.

When a Newton Room is up and running, its ownership is fully transferred to the local municipality or county. The Newton Room is operated by the local operating group, which is set up early in the establishment process. The operating group consists of educational authorities, Newton Teachers, and other parties with legitimate interest.

Science Skills Academy or FIRST Scandinavia supports the Newton Room throughout its operation. They make sure that sharing, continuity, and quality are the focus of the activities within the Newton Room. They also act as the liaison between the Newton Room and the broader Newton Network, and plan and offer seminars, webinars, and guidance to maintain and nurture this connection.
