PRINCIPLES IN TEACHING
A visit to a Newton Room has two goals.
STUDENTS SHOULD ATTAIN A HIGH LEARNING OUTCOME
The education in a Newton Room should constantly focus on promoting learning. Activities and methods are carefully chosen based on this principle. In the Newton Room, the students have time to delve deeply into the subject matter, as well as time for reflection, to develop understanding through practical activities and theory, and to discover connections therein. In this way, Newton facilitates in-depth learning.
STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE A POSITIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Examples of positive learning experiences include a sense of achievement, enthusiasm, discovering a new area of interest, co-operation, fun interaction with the Newton Teacher, eye-opening experiences, or good effort and motivation to learn.
