The newest addition, Mission Possible: The King’s Treasure, was originally developed in 2022 by Thorny Cecilie Andersen at Newton Larvik in Norway. It has been in the Norwegian Module Library since then. After being translated into English, it has officially joined the international repertoire. Tailored for students aged 12-13, this module combines robotics, problem-solving, and storytelling into a rich learning experience.

In this module, students use LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime robots to navigate a palace filled with trails and obstacles in search of the King’s treasure. The robotics table, featuring a custom mat, is complemented by a 3D model inspired by the Royal Palace in Oslo, making the activity both immersive and educational.

Educational specialists Ørjan Snoen and June Moltubakk have worked on the translation and the implementation of the module’s inclusion in the International Library.

“I’m happy this fine module is also available for international learners. The module focuses on core components of programming education, such as algorithmic thinking through pseudocoding, which can sometimes be overlooked when performing the actual coding. Combined with a perfect plot, this is just wonderful”, Ørjan says.

June Moltubakk joined the Newton Team last fall, and this was her first experience working with a Newton Module.

“I am so glad to have participated in making Mission Possible: King´s Treasure available for our international rooms! I hope that it will be well received and that it will become just as popular internationally as it is in Norway”, June says.

Six international modules are now featured on the front page of newtonroom.com, and more will be introduced progressively.
